SA AIA Cancels 2025 Western Cape Conference Due to Low Engagement

The South African Adventure Industry Association (SA AIA) has announced the cancellation of its 2025 Western Cape Conference, originally scheduled for September in Betty’s Bay.

Despite strong awareness of the event, interest from potential attendees and presenters has remained below expectations. “As an organisation committed to creating meaningful, high-quality events for our community, we believe it is better to pause and re-evaluate than to deliver something that doesn’t meet our standards or members’ needs,” said Jessi Sunkel, Chairperson of SA AIA.

While the conference will not go ahead as planned, SA AIA remains committed to the region and will host a focused networking event in Cape Town later this year, aimed at reconnecting with members and identifying opportunities for future gatherings.
