SA AIA Launches CPD Workshop Programme to Elevate Industry Standards
The South African Adventure Industry Association (SA AIA) is excited to announce the launch of its Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Workshop Series — designed to equip adventure guides, facilitators, and outdoor practitioners with specialised, practical skills to raise the standard of professionalism, safety, and expertise in our industry.
Current Workshops in Cape Town
Since the start of 2025, we’ve successfully planned and hosted several CPD workshops in the Cape Town region, covering essential topics such as:
Safety on Steep Ground
Stop the Bleed – First Aid & Bleeding Control
Professional Guiding Techniques
Adventure-Based Facilitation Skills
These hands-on, practical sessions have been well attended by both aspiring and experienced guides and facilitators — reflecting the growing demand for structured, credible professional development in our field.
Expanding to KZN and Gauteng
In response to popular demand, SA AIA is actively planning to expand the CPD workshop programme to KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng in the coming months. Our goal is to make high-quality, accessible CPD opportunities available to adventure and outdoor professionals across the country.
If you’re a facilitator, guide, or organisation interested in hosting or attending CPD workshops in these areas — get in touch with us!
CPD Opportunities at Upcoming Conferences
We’re also proud to announce that both of our 2025 SA AIA Regional Conferences will feature valuable CPD-accredited training and workshops:
📅 Northern Drakensberg (ATKV Drakensville): 14–18 July 2025
📅 Western Cape (Disakloof Campsite, Betty’s Bay): 15–19 September 2025
Attendees will have the opportunity to join CPD workshops while networking, learning, and growing alongside other industry professionals.
Join the Movement
This is an exciting time for the South African adventure and outdoor learning industries. Continuing professional development is key to building a safer, stronger, and more skilled community of guides and facilitators.
